Copenhagen Fossil Dig

Butterflies were everywhere in the coneflower meadow!

Dr. Gary Stringer, Brien Dunn, ULM geology students Dara Cobb and Benji House, and myself (Don Wheeler) set out to for a summertime fossil dig at Copenhagen, Louisiana.  The site had not been disturbed since the spring dig providing plenty of fossils for the taking.  We found a bounty of shark teeth from at least three different species, sting ray teeth, barracuda teeth, corals, and fossilized shark poop called coprolites.  Below are pics from the dig.
